DOODLE SLASHER

Drawn during maths class instead of doing fractions.

You’re stuck in detention, so naturally you’ve doodled yourself a haunted mansion, a chainsaw, and a LOT of things that want to eat you. Hack through a crayon-scribbled horde in a side-scrolling slash ’em up that takes about 5 minutes to play.

Zombies, ghouls, demons and ghosts are all out to get you. Chop them before they chop you.

The monsters

• Zombies shuffle towards you and go down in one hit. There are a lot of them.
• Demons shoot fireballs, high or low, and take a couple of whacks. Duck or jump to dodge.
• Ghosts fade in and fly straight at you. If one touches you, you’re dead. The chainsaw can still cut them down.
• Ghouls explode when you hit them, and the bits (a chomping head, scuttling hands, a hopping foot) all come for you. Chop every one of them.
• THE BIG SCARY THING turns up after about three minutes: a many-eyed, toothy nightmare that spits fireballs. It takes 10 hits to kill, and its fireballs get faster halfway through.

Beat it, walk out of the front door, and strike a heroic pose with your chainsaw in the air. Then see what grade the teacher gives you.

• Three lives and a health bar. Die and you carry on from where you fell, until the lives run out

• Scrawled score, silly sound effects, and a red-pen grade at the end (A+ if you never die, F if you do)

Good to know

• Keyboard only, so desktop browsers
• Cartoon gore: it’s red crayon and cross-eyed zombies, but it’s still blood
